I was delighted to join the Meriden Parish Council in July for the Royal British Legion Industry (RBLI) bike ride which spanned across the whole country and ended right here in Meriden.
It was great to welcome over 50 cyclists to the village and lay a wreath at the cyclist memorial in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms today – we will always remember them.
I want to thank RBLI for organising the event and aptly ending the ride on The Green by the cyclist memorial. I would also like to extend my thanks to Rosie Weaver and her team at Meriden Parish Council who hosted the visitors. Thank you for all that you do for the village. Finally, I want to congratulate all the cyclists for their tireless efforts, braving the heatwave and raising money for this noble cause.
