Community groups across the Meriden constituency came out in force over the weekend of 3-4th July, in support of Saqib Bhatti MP’s Keep Meriden Tidy weekend.
As part of the weekend clean up, volunteers were litter picking in Chelmsley Wood, Hampton in Arden, Knowle, Balsall Common and Kingshurst, with individuals also organising clean ups on their own roads.
Commenting on the series of events over the weekend, Saqib said:
“It was fantastic to be out this weekend alongside dedicated local volunteers cleaning up our communities. I was blown away by the commitment and selflessness shown by all the volunteers who supported with litter picks.
“A special thank you to the community groups who got involved: Clean and Green, Visit Knowle, Knowle Society, Knowle and Dorridge Lions, Balsall Common Litter Pickers, Hampton Wombles, Love Solihull and everyone who did their bit to keep our community clean.
“I particularly enjoyed speaking with volunteers and discussing ways we can work together going forward to ensure we have cleaner and greener communities”.
