Saqib convened business leaders and entrepreneurs at Solihull Moors FC for his November business forum. This marks Saqib’s first business forum after being elected as the MP for Meriden and Solihull East. The event brought together attendees from across the West Midlands to network and discuss a range of topics pertaining to business in the Solihull borough and the wider region with Saqib and guest speaker Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council.
The forum is an opportunity for business owners to develop their local networks and discuss pressing issues. The topics covered included the economy, business growth, the impact of the recent budget on SMEs and local developments such as Mell Square. Saqib chaired the discussion with both Saqib and Ian, answering questions from attendees about the future of business in Solihull and the West Midlands.
As former President of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Saqib recognises the important role local businesses play within the community. Through the business forum, he hopes to champion local business leaders and help them flourish.
Commenting on the event, Saqib said:
“Local businesses are an integral part of our community, and it is so important that we work with them to help them thrive in the coming months and years. I am so proud to represent a constituency with so many wonderful local businesses, and I will continue to champion them to the best of my ability.”
“Thank you to all of the attendees of the business forum, and a big thank you to our guest speaker, Ian Courts, for sharing your business expertise with us.”
