Last week Saqib had the opportunity to visit Arden Academy to chat with a number of students who entered into the Big Ideas Competition.
Last academic year nearly 3000 11-14-year-old students from across England took part in the Big Ideas Competiton, a STEM and Enterprise programme focussing on finding solutions to sustainability issues.
Arden Academy participated in the programme this year, and their incredible team, Kipp & Co, was one of the 11 National Finalists who presented their Big Idea in front of esteemed judges and guests at the Big Ideas Competition 2024 National Final at the Science Museum in London. They even got a Special Commendation from the judges for having the perfect sales pitch!
Commenting Saqib said "It was a fascinating to be able to listen to the interesting ideas being pitched by the team. Their company Kipp & Co focuses on the usage of Solar Power and the different materials that can be used to make it more cost effective and practical. They even designed and manufactured (themselves) a prototype!
It was brilliant to hear the pitch in person and I wish these inspiring students all the best as they go through their GCSEs."
