Saqib was invited by Miss Luck, Headteacher of Forrest Oak School, to watch the unveiling of their Peace Pole.
A Peace Pole is an iconic symbol of “May Peace Prevail on Earth". This was founded in Japan over fifty years ago. Over the decades, Peace Poles which cary the message ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth' have been planted by supporters in every region and continent on earth.
They are planted to ‘uplift, empower and elevate the human consciousness to embrace the oneness of our global family.’ Forrest Oak’s Peace Pole is inscribed in eight languages: English, Albanian, Spanish, Arabic, Urdu, Polish, Cantonese and Ukrainian.
Saqib commented, "I’d like to say a well done to Evie, Alfie and Mr Bates for their beautiful rendition of Imagine by John Lennon during the ceremony.
In a world where conflict is on the rise, aspiring for peace and nurturing this within our communities can only be a good thing.
Thank you to Solihull Rotary Club for donating the pole itself to the School."
